Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Ahmet Eren, an individual developer in Türkiye trading as Serai, for the Serai iPhone app and this website. Using either one means you accept them. They are written plainly on purpose.

1. What the service is

Serai asks you a short daily question about how you feel and answers with one pair of small actions — one for the body, one for the mind — drawn from a catalog of exercises we wrote and reviewed. It also offers an optional AI coach, a journal, a weather calendar and weekly recaps. Some of it is free and some requires a Serai Plus subscription.

2. It is not medical or crisis care

Serai is a self-care and educational tool. It does not diagnose anything, it does not provide medical, psychological or mental health care, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. It is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line — the app keeps a list of them one tap away, outside the paywall, and this website keeps the same list on the Support page.

Every body exercise is meant to be done gently, within a pain-free range. Stop if anything feels sharp, hot or numb. If you are pregnant, recovering from an injury, or living with a condition that affects movement, use the seated or lying versions Serai offers and speak to a clinician about what is appropriate for you.

3. The AI coach, and what it can get wrong

The coach is a large language model, labelled as AI everywhere it appears. Its output can be inaccurate, incomplete or simply unsuitable for your situation, and you are responsible for deciding what to act on. It will not diagnose, name a condition, recommend medication or a diet, or discourage you from seeking professional help. Do not send it anything you would not want processed by a third-party AI provider; the Privacy Policy says exactly what is sent and to whom.

4. Who can use it

You must be at least 16 years old to use Serai. The App Store age rating is 13+ because of the free-form chat, but these terms require 16. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need your parent or guardian's permission.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not use Serai to seek or provide emergency or crisis support, or the care of a qualified professional.
• Do not attempt to make the coach produce harmful content, bypass its safety rules, or extract its instructions.
• Do not automate, scrape, resell, reverse-engineer or place unreasonable load on the service, and do not attempt to work around quotas or the subscription.
• Do not upload other people's personal information into the app.
• Do not copy, republish or redistribute the exercise catalog, the text or the design.

We may suspend an installation that abuses the service. Because there is no account, that means blocking a specific installation identifier.

6. Subscriptions

Serai Plus is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, weekly (with a 3-day free trial) or annual, through the App Store. Prices shown in the app come from Apple and are charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and it is managed and cancelled in Apple Account settings — not by writing to us. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Restore Purchases is available in the app's settings.

Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. Your use of the app through the App Store is also subject to Apple's standard end-user licence agreement: Apple Standard EULA.

7. Rights

The app, this website, the exercise catalog, the evidence notes and the designs belong to us or to our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for yourself. Anything you write in Serai — journal entries, reflections, messages — belongs to you; we do not claim any right over it, and almost all of it never leaves your phone.

8. Availability, changes and liability

We may change, suspend or discontinue features, including the coach, and we may set or change usage limits. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, you can cancel through Apple. The service is provided as it is, without warranties that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on the app's content or the coach's replies. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim there.
